my last trip out to questacon for a long time started out almost as dramatic as an american movie where the school kid misses their bus to something spectacular. Absorbed in a book with the main character who gets lost in her own imagination, i ran late for an 11am bus. if it were just me involved in this outing i would've found another bus, but because it involved meeting other people, i couldnt wait the next hour. coming up to my stop with no sign of a bus, i sat down relieved and checked the time; 10:59am. Knowing that my bus were to pass fed square at 11:01am, and my stop was well before that, i crossed my fingers i hadn't missed it. Waiting there for at least seven minutes, i had given up hope for i have never had a bus this late before. i started walking back home, considering catching the number 52, which takes me to the same destination. Plodding along the median strip, now halfway between both of the closest bus stops, i turn around to see the originally planned bus coming my way. this is the part where i feel like i'm in a movie. running after the bus and waving my hands like a spastic. luckily i didnt have to run far, and a whole line of traffic even stopped for me to cross the road to get there. from then on, the day went as planned, and i even conquered a few soft spots in this fun building of science, like the free fall of 6.7 metres, and getting some half decent pictures from my much hated, battery exterminating, 3.2 megapixel olympus camera.
